The Consular Call Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is available everywhere in the world and serves 7 days, 24 hours and in 6 languages, became the ‘remedy center’ for the citizens who have problems abroad.
The Consular Call Center, established to accommodate applications made by telephone to citizens about consular affairs, is now a ‘cure’ in every matter. The call center, which has responded to the requests of approximately 6 million citizens since its start, with an average of 6,000 calls per day, with 40 staff trained in consular legislation, serves in 6 languages including English, German, French, Flamenco, Italian and Turkish.
WE ARE SEPARATING THE CALLS INTO TWO GROUPS
Emphasizing that incoming calls can be divided into two main groups, Esin Çakıl, Head of the Consular Principle Office, said: “We separate incoming calls into two main group. First of all, our citizens are informed about the consular matters in the form of information or documents. The second group of help requests is emergency calls. Our citizens abroad are looking for us in the face of any difficulties they face. Our citizens living abroad know our phone numbers very well. ”
WHEN THEY ARRIVE AIRPORTS, THEY RECEIVE A MESSAGE
“You can reach the center from +90 312 292 29 29 from everywhere in the world. We also have special lines for the countries where our citizens live more such as USA, France and Netherlands. They can call us from those numbers too. As soon as our citizens who temporarily go abroad, go to the airport, a message will be sent to their mobile phones. So that you can reach the consulate-related number. ”
“It is mainly asked about the visa, but apart from that, they are contacting us in other matters such as obtaining property in Turkey,” he said.
